About Flick

Firstly, thank you – I know that the name of my blog is hilarious and inspired.

It was born in the wake of the fact that unique domain names are very hard to come by these days.

On one hand, it’s a play on words that my friend Tom Drew, in particular, will love. He used to use the original phrase as my nickname during fresher’s week at The University of Nottingham and I, being innocent and oblivious, thought it was a lovely term of endearment and I was chuffed that I’d picked up a new nickname so quickly…

On the other hand, I like to think that ‘Flick the Green’ is my wizard title – a la ‘Gandalf the Grey’.

My ‘real’ name is Felicity Brown and I live in South West London.

This is a photo of me, at my favourite place in the world – Woolacombe Beach, North Devon.

As the name may suggest, my blog is a green one, where I hope to talk about the day-to-day things that I and others can do to be a little more kind to the environment and, by extension, to ourselves.

In today’s society, being mindful of the environment 24/7 is exhausting and seems damn near impossible at times. The biggest issue for me is that I love to travel, which means my carbon footprint is rather large… However, air travel is just one of the many ways in which we’re destroying our world, and so in the other aspects of my life, I’m trying my best to live that little bit more sustainably. For example, I now cycle in to work, buy face-washes without chemicals and micro-plastics, and eat very little meat – except on special occasions ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love being outdoors, especially in the sea or the snow-capped mountains, so you’ll read a bit about my adventures here too.

If you’d like to get in contact, please email me: felicityanna@hotmail.co.uk

Hi Elena! I’ve just had a read of your blog and it’s pretty rad. I can’t believe you only started it in Spring 2014. I’ve actually left London for now to go on a ski season! I’d love to write a guest post for your blog at some point if this is something you’d be interested in? X
